The electroplating process of traditional electroplating equipment mainly includes background electroplating, upper separation electroplating, laser electroplating, secondary electroplating, separation paint and spray protective film; And plastic electroplating refers to the process of coating metal coating on plastic surface by means of electroless plating and electroplating. Plastic electroplating is a typical combination of new materials and new technology in modern processing technology. It broadens the application range of traditional electroplating equipment and opens up a new field for the development of electroplating industry. It can be called a "magnificent big turn" of traditional electroplating technology and has broad market prospects.

After electroplating metal layer, plastic products retain the characteristics of light weight, cheap price and high production efficiency; And has a metal appearance, electricity, heat conduction and anti-aging properties, now plastic electroplating has been widely used in electronics, optical instruments, machine tool buttons and light industrial products. Plastic electroplating technology still has a relatively complicated processing process and technological restrictions, such as poor stability of the plating solution, difficult operation, unstable quality of the coating, prone to pitting and other defects. However, a new type of direct catalytic or direct electroplating plastic has been developed, which can shorten the process and improve the stability of coating. In the aspect of increasing the strength of plastic parts, the high strength composite material can be formed by adding fine particles to shorten or mix the raw material fiber, and the pretreatment process of plastic electroplating parts before coarsening can be well mastered. First of all, it should be considered that the plastic is a non-conductor and cannot be directly electroplated. It must be converted into a conductive cathode by depositing a conductive metal film. Therefore, the plastic electroplating equipment has put forward higher requirements for the variety, shape and manufacturing process of plastics. At present, the main electroplating plastic varieties are ABS, polypropylene and nylon, especially ABS plastic is the most widely used, the best electroplating effect. Considering that improper modeling will cause local stress concentration of the workpiece and reduce the bonding force of the coating, the requirements of electroplating plastic should avoid a large area of the plane, and all edges and corners need to be rounded, and should not be too thin, thickness does not have mutations, in order to ensure the quality of the coating. Because the surface defects of plastic parts after electroplating will become more conspicuous, so the surface finish of the mold is required to be very high, drawing, optical rotation, highlight, sandblasting and other decorative effects should also be made in the mold, the workpiece is generally not released when injection molding agent, in order to release convenience, the mold should be processed to a certain slope according to the direction of the mold.
